Cristiano explains fracas with Higuaín during Juve win
The Portuguese and his former teammate, who was sent off, had a face-to-face during the Serie A leader's victory over Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza.
Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to Sky Sports after Juventus extended their victorious run in Serie A to 12 consecutive games with a 2-0 win over AC Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday and told reporters what he had said during a heated exchange with former Real Madrid teammate Gonzalo Higuaín, who missed a penalty and was later sent off for arguing with the officials.
“I just told him not to go over the line with the referee, I didn’t want him to get a card. He was very agitated, his side were losing, but I didn’t do anything to wind him up and I hope he doesn’t get a heavy ban,” Ronaldo told reporters.
Juve's record start to the season
Of Juve’s record start to the season, with a maximum 34 points accrued in 12 games, Ronaldo said: “I didn’t realise [it was a record] but it makes me very happy. It was an important win because Napoli won yesterday and we needed to make sure we maintained our six-point advantage.”
