Antoine Griezmann played a key role in securing three points for his Atletico Madrid side in the 2-3 win at the Jose Zorrilla stadium as they defeated Real Valladolid 2-3 with the French striker bagging the winner in the 80th minute.

The player admitted that for much of the season he has been suffering with the demands of two games a week having little or no time off after the 2018 World Cup as Les Bleus saw off Croatia to secure their second World Cup triumph with the Atleti player instrumental in their path to glory. With no midweek game this week, Diego Simeone has given the squad a few days off as Atleti prepare for their final game of the year, welcoming Espanyol to the Wanda Metropolitano next weekend.

After the gane in Valladolid, Griezmann caught a flight to New York and headed straight for the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to watch the NBA game as the Nets faced Atlanta Hawks. Before the game the French player managed to add to his collection of shirts with a swap with Nets player D'Angelo Russell.
