Diego Lainez: Betis considering move for Ajax target
The 18-year-old Club América winger, already a Mexico international, is attracting interest from Europe and the LIga side are keen on a January deal.
Although Real Betis’ priority in the January transfer market is to sign a new striker, the Liga club are considering stealing a march on Ajax with a move for highly rated Club América winger Diego Lainez.
The 18-year-old is tipped for great things and has been lauded by veteran Dutch scout Piet de Visser, the man who discovered both Ronaldo and Romario, with Ajax being heavily linked with a bid for the Mexico international.
Guardado green lights Lainez move
Andrés Guardado, the captain of El Tri and one of the leaders of the Betis dressing room, has advised the club to snap Lainez up but América are unlikely to part with their prized asset lightly but the Andalusian side are said to be in talks over a potential transfer before a bidding war ensues with their Eredivisie counterparts.
Other European clubs have also been monitoring the progress of a player who has risen from the Mexico under-17s to the senior side in the space of just one year.
