Perisic: Inter ready to sell Croatia star with Atlético interested
The Serie A club are prepared to listen to offers in the region of €40 million for the World Cup finalist, who will have to choose between LaLiga or the Premier League.
Inter Milan are considering cashing in on Croatia international Ivan Perisic and are willing to listen to offers with the 29-year-old’s form this season failing to convince Luciano Spalletti.
Perisic has contributed three goals in 18 Serie A appearances and five assists overall in 25 games in 2018-19 after playing a leading role in Croatia’s run to the World Cup final in Russia, where he scored in the showpiece against France.
The winger last signed a contract extension in 2017, which runs until 2022, but Inter are open to negotiations at around the 40-million-euro mark and reports in Italy state that there are two clubs currently monitoring the situation. Atlético Madrid and Manchester United.
Simeone in the market for attacking reinforcements
With the futures of Nikola Kalinic and Gelson Martins up in the air, Diego Simeone is in the market for another attacking player despite the club currently in talks over bringing Álvaro Morata in on loan. Atlético’s lengthy injury list and the bit-par contributions of Vitolo and Martins has Simeone on the lookout for reinforcements for his thin squad and Perisic’s style of play suits the Argentinean’s model.
However, Atlético may face competition from Old Trafford with United holding a long-standing interest in the winger. The departure of José Mourinho, Perisic’s main cheerleader, and the vastly improved form of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have altered United’s priorities but the availability of a player of Perisic’s quality at a knock-down fee will not go unnoticed.
