Real Madrid: Solari omits Brahim and Vallejo; Modric, suspended
The Real Madrid manager has named a 20-man preliminary squad for the match against Girona with Isco and Marcos Llorente out injured.
Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari has named his squad for the LaLiga game against Girona on Sunday with few surprises in the Argentinean’s 20-player list.
Brahim Díaz, who has not managed to work his way into Solari’s plans following his 15-million-euro move from Manchester City in January, misses out again as does defender Jesús Vallejo, who is fit again but not yet match ready after a season plagued by injuries.
Luka Modric is suspended for Sunday’s early kick-off after picking up a fifth yellow card in last week’s derby against Atlético Madrid and Marcos Llorente is injured, opening up a space in the squad for Fede Valverde.
Isco is also still missing as he recovers from a back issue, leaving Real a little light in the midfield area, where Dani Ceballos will likely start alongside Toni Kroos and Casemiro.
Solari will be required to drop two players from the list before the game on Sunday with third-choice keeper Luca Zidane and one other making way to meet the 18-player squad limit.
