Real Betis, the next stop for Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge?
France Football report that Quique Setien's Betis could sign the Liverpool striker on a free in June. Sturridge, 30, hasn't renewed terms with the Reds.
Betis have earmarked Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge as one of their prime objectives for next season, according to France Football. Sturridge, who will turn 30 in September and will be a free agent as of 30 June, has not managed to agree new terms with Liverpool and would be an economic option to bolster the Betis attack. He has been free to start negotiating with other clubs since the start of the New Year but the big problem for the Verdiblancos would be meeting is wage demands - at Anfield, Sturridge earns around four million euros after tax.
Striker wanted
Betis plan to bring in two forwards in this summer's transfer window. The southerners have other candidates on their list apart from Sturridge, among them is Real Madrid's Mariano Díaz, who could be included in the operation to bring Júnior Firpo to the Bernabéu. During the most recent transfer window, the Sevillanos made contact with around a dozen forwards before finally settling on Jesé Rodríguez on deadline day, although he doesn't fit the profile of an out-and-out centre-forward which Quique Setién is looking for.
