Atlético Madrid fans sing in appreciation of Simeone's "balls"
After manager Diego Simeone's controversial reaction to a goal against Juventus in the Champions League, the rojiblanco fanbase showed their love.
The gesture from Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone during the Juventus clash in the Champions League receieved much attention. And supporters of the team didn't take long into their next match to share their feelings about it.
Atleti fans support Simeone's balls
Grabbing his groin area passionately after Gimenez's goal, the manager explained it afterwards as a representation that his side 'has balls', referring to strong character, which made some headlines. And although it wasn't seen as a popular reaction by everyone, as his side returned to the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday to face Villarreal, the fans showed that they were right behind their coach.
Simeone had actually apologised for the gesture in his pre-match press conference, however, was greeted with the chants of "que huevos tienes, Cholo que huevos tienes" ("what balls you have, Cholo what balls you have") from the rojiblanco faithful.
The Argentine manager recently extended his contract at the Madrid club until 2022, and continues to strive for success both domestically and against the very best in Europe.
