Luis Rubiales, president of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (Spanish FA) analysed the main current talking points in the Spanish game on the El Golazo de la Mañana de Gol television show.

El Clásico: "It's always a hugely exciting game and always end to end stuff irrespective of the final result".

Copa del Rey format: "The format will undergo change. We're due to discuss this at the forthcoming general assembly in April and we propose to look at the format of the cup along with the Spanish Super Cup as well as studying the future of the women's game. It will be more than interesting and we'll have open access for all media outlets".

The new proposal: "A single tie, small group stages ...we're looking at a range of proposals. We want to open the competition up for smaller regional sides and the overall idea is to make this a more attractive proposition for everyone".

The new Supercopa Final Four format: "I think this will go ahead. The initial reaction has been very positive and we've already received offers from cities interested in hosting the competition".

Overview on VAR: "VAR is a positive step forward despite it not being totally perfect as referees now have a tool than can help then with their task."

Forging more inclusive football: "Football is a tool and a great method of helping integration. Today we watched a  game involving differently-abled boys and girls and it's been a wonderful event".
