REAL MADRID

Eintracht Frankfurt would prefer to sell Jovic to Real Madrid

The relations between the two clubs is very good for a number of reasons and Jovic's father has admitted he isn't very excited at the chance to sign with Barça.

Real Madrid are keen on Luka Jovic and Eintracht Frankfurt would prefer to sell to them over any of the other sides currently linked with the Serbian striker.

Barcelona have shown an interest in adding Jovic to their squad next season but the player's father recently distanced his son from the club citing a potential lack of minutes as the reason. "Luka has lots of offers," Milan Jovic said. "One of them is Barça but he isn't interested at the moment. He isn't assured of minutes at Barcelona."

Their plan was to take advantage of Jovic's low price this summer and sit him behind Luis Suárez for a season as he adapts to the size of the club and a new country. It seems, however, that the striker is unwilling to be anyone's understudy.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid remain on the attacker's trail. He is 21 and has scored 25 goals this season with 17 of them coming in the Bundesliga and 8 in the Europa League. Thanks to such production, Eintracht Frankfurt could finish fourth and make the Champions League for the first time since 1960, their first and only appearance in Europe's top competition.

Real Madrid like the player's ability to contribute straight away but also the potential for further development. They also like his versatility as he is able to play as a number nine or behind the striker, which would suit Zinedine Zidane. The icing on the cake is the very good relationship the German club have with Real Madrid and they would prefer to do business with them over anyone else in Spain.

Good relations between Real Madrid and Frankfurt

Last season, Jesus Vallejo spent the season there on loan before returning to Real Madrid and Omar Mascarell also moved to the German side. Lucas Torró is another player who transferred between the clubs.

In addition to that, the German side already know they will be invited to the Bernabéu Trophy game in 2020. For the last few years, Real Madrid have been playing a preseason friendly against the sides they played in the European Cup final during their five-year run as champions. In 2016, they player Reims, in 2017 against Fiorentina and last season against AC Milan. In 2019, they will play Reims against before playing Frankfurt in 2020, 60 years on from the Hampden Park final victory watched by 130,000 spectators.

The player will cost between €50 and €60 million and the German side have already met with José Ángel Sánchez, a few days ago. Fali Ramadani is the player's agent and he also represents Marcos Alonso, Koulibaly and Miralem Pjanic, who have been linked with moves to the club at various times recently. Frankfurt will obviously look for the best offer but provided Real Madrid match the highest bidder, they will land the Serbian.
