The match between Sporting KC and NY Red Bulls brought an end to week 7 of the MLS, a game that seemed to go unnoticed until the final moments when both teams woke up for a 2-2 draw. Kaku Romero was unsportsmanlike by sending the ball into the stands, hitting a bystander and causing a fight on the pitch.

This week also saw the debut of the new Minnesota United Stadium, the first win of Frank de Boer with Atlanta United, the best start in history from Houston Dynamo and the dominance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Carlos Vela.

Allianz Field

Minnesota United presented their new stadium, which amazed the world with its eco-friendly technology, a field that debuted with a 3-3 draw between the home team and New York City FC. The first goal was scored by Osvaldo Alonso.

The night will also be remembered for the failure of Sean Johnson, the NYC goalie, who tried to control the ball but let it run between his legs, giving the advantage to Minnesota before the end of the first half.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring streak

The LA Galaxy captain missed two games due to an ankle issue, but since his comeback to the starting line-up, Zlatan has five goals in three games, and overall this season he has six goals and one assist.

In the last three games the 'Swedish Lion' has been involved in every goal. In the game against Portland he scored the two goals for the victory of LA Galaxy, against Vancouver played the assist for the first goal and then scored the second goal of the match. Against Philadelphia Union he scored both goals of the game.

De Boer's first win with Atlanta United

The current MLS champions got their first win after five games of the season while visiting the New England Revolution at the Gillette Stadium. Frank de Boer's team earned its first three points thanks to Ezequiel Barco's goals.

Atlanta United's next match will be against FC Dallas, where they need to prove their week 7 victory was not by chance and that they already understand the Dutchman's playing style.

Houston Dynamo best start to a season

Alberth Elis and company remain unbeaten after five games played making them part of the three cubs that haven't lost as yet this season. Their first game ended in a tie, but after that, they have had four consecutive victories. They are in 4th place in the Western Conference having played one game less than LA Galaxy and Seattle and two less than Los Angeles FC.

Carlos Vela MLS dominance

The Mexican striker has taken over the 2019 MLS season, with the LAFC captain sitting at the top of all charts where an offensive player can appear, seven weeks into the season.

Vela is the top scorer with eight goals, the top assist provider with five; is the striker with most shots (41) and is the one with most shots on target (16).
