Ronaldo gestures that the Juve players “shat themselves” against Ajax
A gesture made by Ronaldo at the end of the game has been interpreted as him indicating that his team mates “shat themselves” against Ajax, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
Cristiano Ronaldo was visibly upset after Juventus went crashing out of the Champions League quarter finals at the hands of Ajax on Tuesday, after the Dutch club recorded their first-ever away victory against the Serie A giants.
After his hat-trick heroics against Atlético Madrid to book Juve’s place in the quarter finals against all the odds, the Portuguese star scored both of his side’s goals over the two legs against Ajax. But his 27th minute goal in the second leg was not enough, as Ajax ran in 2-1 winners thanks to goals by Donny van de Beek and Matthijs De Light, which secured the Amsterdam outfit's place in the semi-finals for the first time since 1997.
Erik Ten Hag's side completely dominated proceedings in the second half against a stunned Juve team, something which clearly left a bitter taste in the mouth of Cristiano.
Ronaldo: Juve players “shat themselves”
Ronaldo was not happy with the performance of his Juve team mates and let his feelings show at the end of the game with a gesture he made that was picked up on camera.
The crowd footage that has emerged on social media shows the ex-Real Madrid man making a gesture towards the bench at the end of the game. And the gesture has been interpreted as Ronaldo indicating that his team mates “shat themselves”, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
The footage comes just two days after the player’s mother revealed that he told her after the game that he cannot perform miracles, which also seemingly indicated his feelings about his team mates’ performance against Ajax.
