LA Galaxy increases its losing streak to four games
The absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the starting lineup didn't help Barros Schelotto's team as it added a new loss to its poor run.
Los Angeles Galaxy seems to be a sinking ship after adding its fourth consecutive loss, the second one at home, against the Colorado Rapids, the worst team in the MLS. Before this game they had gone eleven games in a row without winning.
Colorado made some moves in its coaching staff and brought Conor Casey to turn things around, and apparently he has done so, as the Rapids left LA with a win over the team which was second in the Western Conference.
Galaxy arrived for this game with a critical setback, as the MLS disciplinary committee had given its star and captain, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a two-game suspension, leaving the LA side without its striker. And they did miss him, as Antuna and Alvarez failed to cover for the Swede's absence, understandably not an easy task.
The Rapids had luck at their side and, despite not being the best team on the field, they did have the best man of the game, as Tim Howard stopped every attempt on goal by Los Angeles, the former USMNT goalie showing his value in the area.
Colorado Rapids earned its first win of the season with a late goal from Shinyashiki in the 82nd minute, while LA Galaxy got slapped with another loss at home and increased its losing streak to four. Things don't look much brighter for Barros Schelotto's squad as now they will visit Orlando City, also without Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
