Barcelona interested in signing United States young defender
Chris Richards showcased great talent during the U20 World Cup with United States, which is why several teams across Europe show interest in the Bayern Munich defender.
The United States youth team gave a great tournament during the Poland World Cup, and its players sweet on many European teams, which is the case of youngster Chris Richards one of the stars of the US youth squad.
According to CBS Sports, Barcelona or Valencia and some other teams from Germany, and Turkey have expressed interest in the 19-year-old center back, after he became the rock in the back of the American side during the Under-20 World Cup.
Richards plays with U19 Bayern Munich and despite the interest shown by other teams it is unlikely the young US international will leave the Bavarian team with defenders Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng appearing to be on the way out, Bayern will need its young talent to refresh the backline.
According to CBS Sports sources Valencia CF has inquired in the possibility of getting Richards on loan while the interest of Barcelona is still unclear although it looks like Chris is seen as a prospect who could potentially be a first-team player with an aging defense in the Catalonian club.
