Romelu Lukaku’s agent has confirmed that Inter Milan are actively trying to sign the Manchester United striker, saying that it will be a complicated operation but that “nothing is impossible”.

After an underwhelming stint at Old Trafford since joining from Everton in 2017, the 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Inter, where former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has recently taken over.

Conte had previously tried to sign the Belgian forward during his time at Stamford Bridge, and now has him amongst his top transfer targets this summer at the San Siro.

Lukaku has “expressed his plans and desires” – says agent

Recent reports in the UK claim United are looking for £75 million (84 million euros) for the player, the same price they paid Everton two years ago; while Lukaku has already agreed to personal terms with the Serie A club.

However his agent Federico Pastorello acknowledged that closing a deal between Inter and United will be difficult, although he remains hopeful.

“Lukaku is a dream, a difficult one to make happen as such, but I believe nothing is impossible,” Pastorello told FC Inter News (via Football Italia).

Asked whether Inter are actively trying to sign the Manchester United striker, his agent replied: “Yes, he’s publicly expressed his plans and desires. We’ll see what happens.”

United are reportedly yet to receive a suitable offer from Inter for Lukaku, who is one of several players considered to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford as coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to overhaul his squad for next season.
