So, it was not the result expected by most, but Peru will play Chile after riding their luck all the way to penalties against Uruguay. Peru form a team huddle and appear to get each other focused with some strong words. It's the fans in the crowd who seem more concerned than the players.
The players now have a few minutes to sort their heads out for the pressure of penalties. Everyone sipping on their bottles, having some pep talks, and Cavani looking as calm as a man can look.
It's all over for normal time and, not for the first time in the Copa quarters, we're going to spot kicks.
Long throw level with the penalty area sees a flick on into danger but the whistle blows for a foul on the defender by Godin. That could be that...
It's all Uruguay again, with half chances being created in and around the Peruvian box. Nothing so far, though, but they are knocking loudly at the semi-final door.
Chance for Suárez as De Arrascaeta chips the ball into his path, running in behind the defence. The Barça man needed an extra couple of inches in his legs to have reached that.
Peru on the counter, Flores, Guerrero and then Ruidiaz, but the latter's first touch was awful and the ball runs out of play.
Zambrano has taken a knock and is down. Everyone rushes to take in some fluids for these final minutes.
De Arrascaeta drifts the deadball over but Abram sorts things out and Peru look to the clock. There are going to be 7 (SEVEN) additional minutes.
Uruguay win a corner as Caceres drives a cross in but the defender beats Cavani, on the stretch, to it.
VAR has had a big part to play in this quarter-final. Few, actually, nobody can argue with the decisions, though.
Uruguay try again to take control of this game but they appear to have lost that clear upper hand. Tiredness, maybe. Or are both sides happy to go to spot kicks? Surely not.
Guerrero is down getting some treatment and is moved off the field for it to continue. It's amazing how quickly players recover when play restarts without them on the pitch.
Peru now have a little spell of composure, there more dominant opponents standing off them across the middle of the park as though taking a breather. That play culminates into a half-decent opportunity, with Trauco getting in behind the defence. Cleared to safety by Bentancur.
What was that?! Oh, Peru just had a shot in the general direction of Muslera's goal. New boy Gonzales with the effort from around 23 yards but it flies wide. More of that needed if the red and whites want to progress.

Unless I've missed it, we've still not had any substitutions in this game. Possibly, after seeing what happened in the other quarter finals, the managers are pondering penalty freshness.
Valverde goes into the book for having the temerity to be in the way of the clearing leg of Yotun.
De Arrascaeta tries to steal the show with a volley but horribly miscues. There is an extra swagger about Uruguay now with Peru holding on. Have they run out of steam or is it just the class showing?
Corner won by Uruguay after good work from Suárez. The delivery is good but no blue shirt can get a head on it and Peru survive. If I was a betting man I would take a punt on Tabárez' side nicking one, or two, before the end of normal time.
Cueva joins the yellow card list for a late lunge.
Goal!!!!! Cavani released in behind the Peru defence and, just when it looked like he'd roll the ball to his supporting teammate to tap home, he dinks it over the keeper. Lovely! Oh, wait a minute...VAR confirms the doubt over offside and the goal is ruled out.
Remember that Cavani miss before. Godin appears to want to emulate the striker and has drilled it high over the bar from in front of the goal.
What's going on here? Godin appeared to have nudged a hair follicle off Zambrano as he jumped but the Peruvian has gone down as if shot. Poor form, sir, poor form.
Chance for Peru as Guerrero drives into the penalty area on the left, and pulls back a cross that evades everyone before being cleared. There was space for Guerrero to pull the trigger there rather than cross.
Caceres with a foul on Advincula sees Peru awarded a free-kick. This second half not bursting into life just yet.
Carrillo shows his pace from a standing start on the left flank, skinning his marker but then unable to find a decent ball into the area. The Al-Hilal man could be a useful outlet for Peru.
Zambrano booked for that foul
Flores now, gets behind the Uruguay back line and creates a decent crossing chance. His dinked delivery is headed safely out of the area by the defence and then Zambrano gives away a free-kick as Uruguay look to break.
Guerrero looks to get onto a long pass foward but he's called for offside. Positive from Peru.
Nice hit from the young lad but it's easy enough for Gallese to parry away.
Just 20 seconds into the second half and Uruguay win a free-kick about 30 yards from the Peru penalty area. Valverde is going to try his luck...

Right, the managers have had their say. The teams are heading back out onto the field and we are about to get this show back on the road...
For Tabárez, it's going to be more of the same, but with a lift in the level of intensity and focus at the business end. This game is there for the taking and if they can get the opener, I'd struggle to see them not secure that remaining semi-final slot.
This stat tells part of the story of that first half, although there were a couple of occasions where Peru were creating inroads. Gareca will likely want the midfield to step a metre or two further forward to support the attacks, and getting Guerrero on the ball more could be key.
Peru are holding their own, a little clumsily at times, and have fashioned some chances of their own, mostly hitting fast when turning over possession in their own half. That short passage of play in the dying minutes will have given them a burst of additional confidence to come out positive in the second half.
General feel for that first half: Uruguay the more dominant and the team looking more likely to score but they're somewhat flattering to deceive. Cavani's effort half way through the first 45 minutes stands out as the biggest chance (oh, what a miss!) but there have not been too many others to shout about...
Yotun drops the corner into the penalty area and Carrillo gets a head to the ball but directs it straight out of play.
Very nice period of controlled possession from Peru in the final third eventually leads to a corner. This will be the last action of the half.
There will be two minutes of added time for these teams to see out.
A long range lob effort from Flores is followed by a decent chance for Guerrero but Uruguay ensure that he's blocked and cleared.
The Blanquirroja are getting plenty of bodies in the way when their opponents get into the area but are, at times, struggling to clear with any sort of control. A moment of almost slapstick efforts to do so there could have opened the door for Uruguay.
Corner won by Uruguay in a game that has started to be stretched in recent minutes. As no one from either side deals properly with the cross, it falls to the Barça striker at the back post to swing a leg at the ball. A complete mishit allows Peru to get rid.
A real penalty shout at the end of that breakaway as Guerrero goes down. Replay shows it was a fair challenge to get the ball back to Muslera.
Suárez down in the penalty area but even he doesn't appeal. Now Peru can break...
Guerrero gets stuck in on Gimenez as Peru clear the ball forward but is too physical for the official's liking.
Godin not happy about that call and makes his feelings known to the man in black. Awww, the ref gave him a card in return.
We have another free-kick for the sky blues, a chance for De Arrascaeta to deliver into the area from deep. As the bodies collide in the area, the ref blows his whistle and gives the defence a breather.
Gooooaaaa... no! Nandez offside before putting in the cross that was neatly slotted home. As you were.
Another red face for Uruguay, this time Nandez, as the midfielder's free header is totally misjudged. Ahhh, he must have spotted the offside flag up first (?)
WHAT A MISS!! Cavani is in the perfect position to slot home the rebound after Suárez' strike is saved but he fires way, way over the bar. Disbelief in the eyes of his teammates.
Yotun delivers and its Gimenez who clears to Cavani on the edge of their area before the PSG man is bundled to the ground. Pressure off.
Carrillo and Flores almost link up beautifully in the Uruguay area but Gonzalez nicks the ball away to safety. Corner to Peru.
Godin showing that he's going to be the boss today as he flies into a powerful headed clearance of a bouncing ball midway inside his half, with no qualms about taking out the attacker in the process.
Uruguay getting more joy in the final third. Nandez gets on the end of the pass and hits an effort from the right angle. Good save.
Close (but never really troubling Gallese) from Suárez. Lovely cross from the right by Valverde but the header is high and over.
Bentancur getting on the ball plenty for his side as he tries to dictate play. Peru are doing ok but are quick to give up possession when under pressure.
Peru break well into the left channel of the Uruguay area but just as things are looking promising, the ball bounces up and hits Miguel Trauco's arm. Ref stops play. Handy through ball from Cueva.
What a waste! Chipped straight out of play. Gareca won't be pleased with that.
A short stoppage in play here as Giménez gets back to his feet gingerly. It was actually his foul but he came off worse. Chance for Peru to line up the big men in front of Muslera's goal...

It's another free-kick to La Celeste with Advincula getting a bit overly familiar with his opponent.
Peru work the ball away from their goal but quickly lose possession again as Uruguay look to control this match from the outset.
The delivery is curled in to the crowd but headed away well.
Uruguay now take a few touches in their own half before feeding Cavani who comes deeper to collect. A thump into his back sees the first free-kick of the game awarded.
Peru with the first period of play working themselves to the edge of the Uruguay area before the ball is cleared long.

Anthems sung loud and proud. It's almost time for the game to get underway.
The man with the whistle for this game will be Wilton Sampaio. The 37-year old hails from Teresina de Goiás in the Brazilian State of Goiás. I'll put some money on a certain Barça striker conversing with him a few times over the next couple of hours.
We all know that strikers (in particular) love a bit of individual glory. Not a bad chance then, as it stands, for Suárez and Cavani to give themselves a cushion in this race.
Behind the front two for Uruguay, of course, lie a useful set of supporting acts. Juventus boast a couple of them and were quick to get behind their lads ahead of this match.
Los Incas will be mindful that going behind to La Celeste can make things rather complicated. Tabárez' men have proved themselves stubbornly good at holding on to a lead. Ricardo Gareca will therefore be looking for a bright start, and will be hoping for a little rub of the green too.
Peru have already been on the wrong side of a hammering in this year's tournament, a 5-0 dressing down by the samba boys, Brazil. Guerrero and Flores will be looked to as the most likely to cause some problems for Godin and co.
Uruguay, we should not forget, have won this tournament 15 times in their history, more than any other nation. It's the current holders Chile that they expect to face if they perform anywhere close to their potential.
No surprise to see the starting strikeforce picked by Tabárez. The Barça-PSG partnership of Suárez and Cavani has already shown its teeth, and both will be aiming to get on the scoresheet once again
