Hazard, Jovic, Mendy, Rodrygo, Kubo to fly to Montreal ahead of U.S. tour
Zinedine Zidane will take 30 players to Montreal ahead of the U.S. tour, including new signings Hazard, Jovic, Rodrygo, Kubo, and Mendy.
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane will carry a squad of 30 players to Montreal for a training camp ahead of the pre-season tour in the U.S., which kicks off on 21 July.
Twenty four first-team players will travel while six young players have been released by Real Madrid Castilla coach Raúl, among them new 18-year-old signing Takefusa Kubo, the so-called ‘Japanese Messi’ who recently competed with Japan in the Copa América.
Courtois, Lunin, Zidane and Keylor Navas
Four goalkeepers are set to travel from Madrid: Thibaut Courtois, Andriy Lunin, Luca Zidane and Keylor Navas, who has decided to stay at the club after neither Manchester United nor PSG were willing to match his salary demands. One of those four will likely leave before the start of the LaLiga season, with Leganés interested in signing Lunin.
Zidane is taking all of his available defenders, with the exception of Jesús Vallejo, who has been given vacation leave until 22 July after participating at the U21 European Championships with winners Spain, and new signing Eder Militao, who is currently on duty with Brazil at the Copa America.
Midfielders: Kroos, Modric and Isco
Only three central midfielders will head for Montreal on Monday: Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Isco (Asensio can also be counted if Zidane uses a diamond formation), while Casemiro and Fede Valverde are missing due to their participation in the Copa América (Casemiro will be in the Brazil squad for the final on Sunday).
With the transfers of Marcos Llorente (Atlético) and Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea) confirmed, Zidane has called in several youngsters from Castilla to back up his options in midfield.
