FIFA will analyse the Women's World Cup for the first time
The US' second straight World Cup win was one for the books, and a perfect example for FIFA to study the development of women's football.
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) will organise for the first time in women's football history a conference aimed at analysing the USWNT's tactics, technique and physique at the just completed 2019 France World Cup, where the Americans retained their global crown.
The governing body announced this event for September 22 in Milan, where coaches and heads of women's football from the different FIFA confederations will be invited.
In the statement, it said the 2019 France World Cup would be analysed from a tactical point of view on the main football trends of the tournament, in a similar manner to what was done after the men's Russian World Cup.
"This historic conference will give us a unique opportunity to understand better how women's football has been developing on the pitch and the main lessons learned from France," said Branimir Ujević, FIFA's Head of Coaching & Player Development and the Project Lead.
The conference will be held prior to the FIFA The Best Awards, which recognise the top-performing players and coaches in the world in men's and women's categories.
USWNT Championship echo continues
Back-to-back women's world champions the US keep taking the spotlight, and besides all the prizes and recognitions, Jill Ellis' squad set several records like the most significant gap in the FIFA rankings or becoming the most-watched final.
