As Barcelona's new signings prepare to make their first home appearances for the club in tonight's Gamper Trophy clash with Arsenal, a potential further addition to Ernesto Valverde's squad is also in the headlines in the Catalan press today.

Sport leads with news of a possible solution to the impasse over Neymar's mooted return to Barça from Paris Saint-Germain. According to the publication, PSG and the Blaugrana are working on a year-long loan deal for the player, which would include a non-obligatory end-of-season purchase clause.

The clubs are now "making good progress" in talks over Neymar, Sport adds, with the former Santos star eager to rejoin Barça two years after leaving for PSG in a world-record, 222m-euro deal. Barcelona skipper Messi set for start-of-season speech

The front pages of both Sport and Mundo Deportivo also feature Junior Firpo - whose transfer from Real Betis to Barcelona has since been confirmed - and look ahead to this evening's clash with Arsenal, in which Neto, Frenkie de Jong, Antoine Griezmann and Moussa Wagué are in line to make their Camp Nou bows.

The papers additionally note that, although he won't be involved against the Gunners, all eyes will be on star striker Lionel Messi before the match as he delivers the club captain's traditional start-of-the-season speech to the fans.
