Neymar not among world's top 3 players, says Rivaldo
Former Barcelona forward Rivaldo was the special guest on Cadena SER programme 'El Larguero' and gave his thoughts on Real Madrid and Barça target, Neymar.
Rivaldo gave his thoughts on the man both Barcelona and Real Madrid are hoping to sign before Monday's transfer deadline - Neymar. Speaking on Cadena SER's El Larguero programme that he has a feeling that the Paris Saint-Germain star is more likely to return to Barcelona than end up at the Bernabéu but added that right now, Neymar is not one of the three best players on the planet.
Messi still No.1 - Rivaldo
Best player in the world: "At the moment, it's Messi. Cristiano Ronaldo would be second and third... that's something I haven't thought about. Neymar wouldn't be third. For everything that happened last season. If he does return to Spanish football, maybe next season he might be among the top three players in the world - or even be the best".
Will Neymar return to Barça? "I think he made a mistake leaving in the first place but I'd like to see him come back. With Neymar, the team will be stronger in the Champions League. We know he made a mistake but as soon as he's back and scoring goals it will all be forgotten about".
Neymar's father liking Rivaldo's post calling for the player to return to Barça: "His own father knows he made a mistake and he still has time to return, say sorry and play brilliantly again for the next few seasons".
Room for Neymar?
Barcelona's attack: Messi, Suárez, Griezmann and Neymar: "You can always find space for good players. Every club wants to have the best players. It would be good for football and absolutely amazing for Barcelona."
If Neymar ends up joing Real Madrid: "That'd be good too. I played for Barcelona and so obviously, I'd like him to join Barcelona but if he ends up going to Real Madrid, that would also be good for the club and for Neymar. But personally, I hope he goes back to Barcelona."
