Real Mallorca hope to capitalise on Kubo boom in Japan
A delegation from the Balearic island outfit have travelled to Asia looking at ways of extending the Real Mallorca brand in Japan.
A delegation from the marketing and communication department from Real Mallorca are in Japan attending a series of business meetings as the club looks at ways to capitalise on the boom that teenage attacking player Takefusa Kubo has caused this summer since his initial move from FC Tokyo to Real Madrid. The island based club have seen the high level of interest the player has generated in his native Japan with scores of Japanese communication outlets already demanding the player's attention for media work at the club's Palma training centre.
Despite being signed by Real Madrid and participating in the summer tour under the guidance of Zidane Zidane, the Santiago Bernabeu club sent the 18-year-old on loan to Mallorca ro secure more first team playing time.
National duty
Kubo is currently involved with his national side as Japan faced Paraguay earlier this week with the player featuring in the entire second half of the action. The "Samurai Blue" kick start their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign when they travel to Myanmar next week.
Kubo made his LaLiga debut for Mallorca last weekend as Vicente Moreno's men fell to Valencia in Mestalla with the Japanese player coming on in the 78th minute of the game.
