Real Madrid news: Marcelo, Benzema, Rodrygo, Brugge...
In today's Real Madrid round-up, we bring you news of a club record for Karim Benzema, a virtuoso display by Rodrygo Goes... and more.
Wanda wall: Real register another shut-out
Saturday night's goalless LaLiga draw with Atlético Madrid saw Real Madrid extend their recent run without facing a shot on target to a not unimpressive 270 minutes, before the sequence was finally brought to an end by a 90th-minute Diego Costa header. Los Merengues have now kept three straight clean sheets since their 3-0 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain a week and a half ago.

Benzema moves ahead of Di Stéfano
Karim Benzema became Real's top foreign appearance-maker in Madrid derbies in the Wanda Metropolitano stalemate, featuring against Atlético for the 20th time since his 2009 move to the Santiago Bernabéu. The Frenchman, 31, had been tied for the lead with club legend Alfredo di Stéfano.
Rodrygo shines in Castilla victory
Having scored inside the first two minutes of his Real Madrid debut in midweek, Rdorygo Goes continued to offer plenty of cause for excitement on Saturday, starring for the club's 'B' team, Castilla, in a 3-1 win over Rayo Majadahonda. The 18-year-old not only delivered a fine all-round display replete with moments of quality, but also got his name on the scoresheet once more, grabbing Castilla's second with a burst of pace and a clinical finish.

No Marcelo as Real prepare for European clash
Fresh from his virtuoso Castilla performance, Rodrygo trained with the seniors on Sunday as Zinedine Zidane's men turned their attentions to Wednesday's match-up with Club Brugge. However, fellow Brazilian Marcelo was not involved in the session at Valdebebas as he continues his recovery from a back injury, and appears unlikely to make the Champions League clash at the Bernabéu.

Brugge warm up for Madrid with big win
Club Brugge, who drew 0-0 with Galatasaray in their opening game in Champions League Group A, will go to the Spanish capital in a rich vein of form after thumping Mechelen 5-0 in Belgium's Jupiler Pro League on Saturday. Philippe Clement's side sit two points clear of Standard Liege at the top of the table after the victory, which was their third in a row in their domestic league.
