UEFA has confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Real Madrid and Club Brugge after the sides' 2-2 Champions League draw on Tuesday.

Real in trouble for kick-off delay, Brugge charged over "abusive language"

The organisation's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) said on Thursday that Madrid have been charged with delaying the kick-off at the Santiago Bernabéu, in accordance with Article 11 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.

Meanwhile, Brugge are to be investigated for breaching Article 15 (1) after midfielder Rudy Vormer allegedly directed "abusive language towards a match official" in the wake of his 84th-minute sending-off for a second-bookable offence.

The CEDB will meet to look into the charges on 17 October.

Emmanuel Dennis' two first-half strikes for Brugge were cancelled out by goals by Sergio Ramos and Casemiro as the teams played out an entertaining Group A stalemate - a result that left 13-time champions Madrid with just one point after two group-stage games.
