Players emerge onto the field.
Sevilla's record against Barcelona is 40 wins 35 draws and 94 losses.
Sevilla in the house. Big chance for Oliver Torres. He has been slowly working his way into Lopetegui's plans and could be key tonight to Sevilla's creativity.
Last time Lopetegui played Barcelona, it ended 5-1 and it also ended his tenure as Real Madrid manager.
There was some talk about Messi and Griezmann's relationship prior to the Inter Milan game. Griezmann said they didn't really talk much and then he didn't play very well against the Italian side with a deeper look into the stats after that game. It appears they don't connect on the pitch very much, which hasn't helped the narrative that they don't really see eye to eye.
The return of Messi has brought with it a sense of calm to the Camp Nou. Lopetegui's side, who love to press, looking to bring back a little chaos tonight!
Ter Stegen becomes the first foreigner to play 200 games in goals for Barcelona tonight.
Ocampos does start though and that might be a really tough task for whoever plays on the left, most likely Semedo.
Chicharito has two goals in four games this season but he has only played 41 minutes in LaLiga and neither of his goals came in the domestic competition. Seems Lopetegui doesn't think he fits into his system yet. It's the same as when they played Real Madrid when De Jong got the nod up front. They didn't create much at all that day but with Lenglet out, Firpo injured and Jordi Alba on the bench, they might have some more luck tonight.
Sevilla XI: Vaclik, Reguilon, Carrico, Diego Carlos, Jesus Navas, Fernando, Oliver Torres, Banega, Nolito, Ocampos, De Jong.
Clement Lenglet is suspended for the game and Tobido steps in for him. Meanwhile, Busquets has been left on the bench alongside Griezmann as Vidal and Dembele get starts.
Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen, Semedo, Piqué, Tobido, Sergi Roberto, De Jong, Arthur, Vidal, Suárez, Messi, Dembélé.
That win over Inter Milan has smoothed things over at Barcelona. With Messi in the team, anything is possible. We already knew that but something we need a reminder. Report from Argentina, however, suggest Marcelo Gallardo is being considered to replace Ernesto Valverde if they don't improve and start playing more consistently.
The good news for Messi and the bad news for Sevilla is that there is no team he has scored more against. with36 in 37 games, he will be looking to continue that streak tonight.
Messi announced his return against Inter Milan during the week with an inspiring display! He has some catching up to do with the likes of Lewandowski and Gnabry on hot streaks in front of goal to start the season.
