When Real Madrid kick off against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening they are fully aware of the situation regarding them qualifying for the knock-out stages of the Champions League. But are you?

What Real Madrid need to do

With just two group matches remaining, there are a number of teams across the UEFA groups who are still not certain if they will be enjoying Tuesday and Wednesday evening football come the turn of the year. Los Blancos are one such club.

Sitting in second place in Group A, and five points ahead of Club Brugge in third, confidence is high, although the aim is still to strive for top spot. In doing so they will hope to be handed an easier passage, although this doesn't always turn out to be the case.

Visting PSG are guaranteed their place in the next round, and are bookies' hot favourites to finish above the rest, already having accumulated a maximum 12 points from their opening four games. If they avoid defeat to Madrid then that is confirmed.

A win for a much improved team under Zidane will mean we head into the final games with first place still available for both sides, two points still separating them and games against Brugge and Galatasaray to conclude procedings. The Belgians have to win in Turkey in their penultimate game to keep their hopes alive of second place, and hope that Madrid lose.
