Lautaro Martínez impressed Barça directors in last night's game despite not getting on the scoresheet. He was a constant pest for Todibo, Lenglet and Umtiti throughout the game, set up Lukaku for the equaliser, and had two goals ruled out - both of them, classy finishes. Everything Lautaro did, matches the profile of the player Barça are looking for as Luis Suárez's eventual replacement.

Lautaro fit the bill for Barcelona

Diarios AS confirmed on 20 November that Lautaro's release clause is set at 111 million euros but can only be triggered during the first fortnight of July. That means that Inter can put whatever price they want on Lautaro Martínez during the upcoming winter transfer window and successive summer windows, but for a 14-day period in July, the player can be bought for 111 million euros. As far as Éric Abidal and Ramón Planes are concerned, now is the moment to decide whether Barça should fork out that amount for the 22-year-old. According to Transfermarkt, Lautaro is valued at 40 million euros, but it looks like he could soon renew terms with Inter. In 21 official games he has scored 13 goals and created another four. Lautaro is much more than a goal scorer - he is a team player. He never shirks his defensive duties and has an understanding with his team mates. He's not a striker who spends his time waiting for the ball to arrive, he plays an active part in the game, follows the ball and is a good reader of the game. Barça have been closely watching him for the past few months and intensified their monitoring programme back in September, following Lautaro's performances with Inter and Argentina.

Barça have a trump card to lure Lautaro to Camp Nou - Messi. For Lautaro, the chance to play alongside the best player in the world before he retires would be a dream. And Barça believe that if Messi asks Lautaro to join, he will coming running.
