"His body, his beauty... I was trembling" - Georgina Rodríguez on first meeting Ronaldo
The wife of Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed how sparks flew when she first met the ex-Real Madrid star, while also describing the difficulties of being hounded by the press.
Georgina Rodríguez has opened up about her relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo in an interview for Italian magazine Grazia, describing how she trembled when she first met the ex-Real Madrid star.
Ronaldo first met Rodríguez at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she was working as a shop assistant at the time. And from that very first moment, she confesses that the sparks were flying.
“His height, his body, his beauty caught my attention. I was trembling in front of him, but a spark ignited,” recalled the 26-year-old model.
“I am very shy and perhaps this stirred me more in front of a person who, with one glance, had touched me deeply. Then after, the way Cristiano treats me, cares for me and loves me did the rest.”
Rodríguez on the difficulties of dating Ronaldo
But dating the world’s biggest sporting star, who recently became the first person to reach more than 200 million followers on Instagram, also came with its difficulties as Rodríguez began to be constantly hounded by the press.
"The situation became unbearable. People were chasing me. They called me on the phone, reporters came to the boutique pretending to be customers ... Little by little I started working behind the counter to curb the aggressive curiosity of the press,” Rodríguez told Grazia.
“At one time it was unsustainable: I changed, but still they were all over me. I can't go out safely because there is always someone who wants to photograph me. That's why I always have to worry about my safety."
However, she quickly forgets her problems when watching her husband on the pitch: "He is the only one who manages to excite me during a game. I am fortunate to be the partner of the best football player of all time. When he is on the field I experience an infinite number of emotions. He doesn’t have any rivals.”
