Vinicius: "At Madrid we always want the Champions League"
The Brazilian youngster spoke ahead of the big European night at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday where Los Blancos face Manchester City.
Vinicius Jr comes into his second Champions League season with Real Madrid and his dreams are on winning the title. The Brazilian was speaking as part of a promotional video for the Spanish beer company Mahou and he gave his views on the importance that UEFA's top club prize carries for Los Blancos.
Vinicius and Isco for Mahou
"At Real Madrid we always want to win it and we are ready for everything," the youngster said about the Champions League.
His teammate Isco - who could be vying for a place on Wednesday with the Brazilian - also spoke for the brand that sponsors Los Blancos, explaining that the key against Manchester City is to go out onto the field with full concentration, and to try and make as few mistakes as possible.
"In the end, it is the small details that make a difference in a Champions League tie," he stated.
"As I've said before, we have to go out focused because we have the quality [to win]. We have the trump card of the Bernabéu, which is also very important.
"I believe that the team is confident about doing things right, and it will be a very attractive tie," he concluded. It was interesting to note that in the recording the Málaga-born player still had his beard, meaning it was done before Madrid's loss to Levante.
The midfielder also spoke about his performance improvements this season.
"The secret to it is hard work and more hard work. I really want to show the football that I'm capable of and Zizou's confidence has really helped me.
"I'm looking forward to helping the team in the important matches that are ahead of us."
