Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal was sent off against Napoli in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 tie in Italy after receiving two yellow cards in quick succession in the dying minutes of the game.

With the score at 1-1, Vidal received the first yellow for a rough challenge on Mario Rui, which caused the Napoli full back to react. Moments later, the Chilean was booked again for pushing his head into Rui's forehead as the pair tussled.

Vidal will now be suspended for the second leg in Camp Nou as the first leg finished 1-1 at the Estadio San Paolo, where Antoine Griezmann found a 57-minute equaliser for the visitors to cancel out Dries Merten’s first-half strike.

Piqué hobbles off for Barcelona

Two minutes after Vidal’s expulsion, Gerard Piqué hobbled off with a twisted ankle, meaning the Barça captain is likely to miss this weekend’s Clásico against Real Madrid as the long list of unavailable players continues to grow for coach Quique Setién.
