Josef Martinez stretchered off in opening game against Nashville
The Venezuelan striker was forced out of the Nashville game on 69 minutes after suffering a collision with an opponent.

Atlanta United are worried about Josef Martinez after the player suffered an injury against Nashville in their opening match of the 2020 season. The visitors won the game 1-2 but the result was marred by the serious injury to their best player who left the field on a stetcher in the second half.
It was in the 69th minute when the Venezuelan striker injured his right leg after colliding with a Nashville player. Martinez immediately fell to the floor and asked for medical attention. He was subsequently taken off.
The player was later photographed leaving the stadium on crutches and apparantly, in a lot of pain. After the game Atlanta United’s coach Frank de Boer said that he is very worried about the seriousness of the injury.

Atlanta back in action on Saturday
Atlanta next face against Cincinnati on Saturday at the Mercedes-Benz stadium. After that game they will fly to Mexico to play against Club America for the Concacaf Champions league on March 10th.
