Supporters from the Nord Curva at Atalanta's Atleti Azzurri d'Italia stadium have decided to donate the refunds they received for unused tickets for tonight's Champions League return leg against Valencia to the Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo, one of those at the frontline in treating patients struck down with coronavirus. And other Atalanta fans have decided to follow suit. In total, around 1,200 fans have been reinbursed for tickets - worth 60,000 euros which will be donated to the hospital.

In a statement on their Facebook page, the Nord Curva wrote: "This evening we have experienced one of the most beautiful moments in our history; this emergency situation puts everything into perpective," adding, "In the next few days we will make a bank transfer of €40,000".

In an ATT press release, the Atalanta Supporters Association has made a plea for others to follow the initiative. "If all of our members are in agreement to donate the stadium ticket refund, ATA will be able to make a very substantial donation - close to 20 thousand euros".
