Jürgen Klopp’s tireless love for football has been clear from the first moment he set foot on the Anfield touchline and Reds fans will not be surprised to learn that his passion for the game has not waned.

A video of the trophy celebration after the Champions League last year just popped up on my YouTube so I watched it, just like three or four minutes. I put it in the [players’ Whatsapp] group, with the phrase: ‘Still true’," Klopp said in an interview with Liverpoolfc.com

The team spirit in the Liverpool camp has been a vital component throughout Klopp’s time in charge and that has continued despite the time apart. He also added clips from their victories over Manchester City, Barcelona, Leicester and Manchester United and called on the rest of the team to do the same.

The boys sent a lot of their own videos that they made when we on the truck driving through the city. You could tell that they had really enjoyed that and were looking forward to doing something similar [this year].”

Klopp: "I’m 52 and I cannot tie a tie…"

Klopp also gave fans a bit of insight into life in his Formby home during lockdown. He lives in a house formerly owned by his predecessor Brendan Rogers before it was purchased by the club last year.

He must have had a pretty full schedule since taking his first managerial job aged just 32 so Klopp is using this time away from football for a spot of self-improvement. He said that in recent weeks he has learnt how to use the washing machine and make scrambled eggs, but he is not stopping there:

The challenge for next week is, I’m 52 and I cannot tie a tie… It will probably take the full week too because my hands are useless, so it’ll be funny.”

Klopp has previously spoken about the challenges that the lockdown restrictions will bring with people forced to stay away from friends, family and colleagues. However he did offer proof that with many having more free time than before this could be the perfect opportunity to reach out to old friends.

“It’s a time when social distancing is probably the word of the year, but in another way I’m social connecting with people I haven’t spoken to in a long time.

“I asked my classmate group if they had some pictures and then they were shooting them in [to the group chat]. I had a wonderful day to be honest I was really laughing so hard, a lot of nice memories came up”

I looked crazy strange when I was young, maybe people could say today as well, but I never cared about that. You can see that from the pictures probably!”
