Trump’s disinfectant remarks follow letter from leader of group touting ‘cure’
The Guardian has revealed that Donald Trump’s suggestion that disinfectant could be used as a remedy against coronavirus came after Mark Grenon, the leader of a group touting bleach as a Covid-19 cure, wrote to the US president earlier this week.
“Trump did not specify where the idea of using disinfectant as a possible remedy for Covid-19 came from, and the source for his notion remains obscure,” the newspaper said. “But the Guardian has learned that peddlers of chlorine dioxide – industrial bleach – have been making direct approaches to the White House in recent days.”
Grenon told the president that chlorine dioxide is “a wonderful detox that can kill 99% of the pathogens in the body”, adding that it “can rid the body of Covid-19”.

The situation in New Jersey
The rate of hospitalizations, critical care patients, ventilator use, and deaths in New Jersey are dropping, officials say but new cases have risen over the past 24 hours - mainly in South Jersey. In total, the Garden State reported 3,047 new Covid-19 positive tests on Friday and 253 deaths, bringing the total to 102,196 cases and 5,617 deaths in seven weeks since the outbreak started. Only New York has more cases and deaths.
1,500th Covid-19 survivor given Mardi Gras parade send-off
Ochsner Health shared a video of the fanfare on Facebook, saying, “We are so excited to announce the discharge of our 1,500th Covid-19 patient from Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans!”
Kathleen Bennett, 57, spent almost 3 and a half weeks in the hospital being treated for Covid-19. At one point, she was admitted to the ICU and was placed on a ventilator for 12 days before making an incredible recovery. She was discharged in style, staff waving and clapping as she was helped home to continue her recovery with "When the Saints go Marching In" playing as she left.

President Donald Trump laid into the US Postal Service (USPS) during his address at the Oval Office on Friday. Trump said that the USPS, who lost a reported 65 billion dollars during the past 11 years, must increase their prices to get back into the black because they are losing money delivering packages for the likes of Amazon and other online outlets.
“The Postal Service is a joke, because they are handing out packages for Amazon and other internet companies, and every time they bring a package, they lose money on it,” he scathed. "They don't want to raise their prices because they don't want to insult Amazon".

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced plans today to help small businesses get through the next few months by offering financial aid for those who are struggling to pay their rent.
Through the Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance Program, small and medium-sized companies who have sufered a 70% drop in revenue will have their rent cut by 75% during the months of April, May and June. The government will cover 50% of the rent reduction with property owners covering the rest.
