Galaxy had to rally from behind to get the victory and the first goal for the home side was scored by Daniel Steres with a beautiful header from a set piece. According to statistics provided by Opta, the defender has the second highest number of headed goals for the club since 2016, with a total of seven.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic tops the list

The only player with more headed goals in the colors of the Galaxy since 2016 is none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored a total of 14 during his time in Los Angeles. When Steres saw the tweet from OptaJack he joked on social media.

“But how many head/shoulders goals…?,” he tweeted a reply on Sunday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a total of 53 goals in 58 games with LA Galaxy and he gave a total of 15 assists. After a year and a half of playing for the multi-cup winners he decided not to continue and signed with AC Milan, only recently extended that deal for another year. Not bad for a 38-year-old striker.
