Real Madrid: Eden Hazard is back for Champions League
Following an interesting 25 days without one of the perceived stars of the season, Zinedine Zidane has been able to name him in the squad, along with young Sergio Santos.
A few hours after the huge win at Camp Nou, the Real Madrid squad were already back training on the Valdebebas pitch. Zinedine Zidane knows that the schedule doesn’t allow much time for celebration and his focus immediately turned to Tuesday's next crucial game at Borussia Park. After the boost of El Clásico, there was more good news for the coach: Eden Hazard completed the sessions with the group and is in the travelling squad.
Hazard back for Madrid
The Belgian was last injured on 30 September and since then he has been missing, with so much expected from him after such a disappointing first season interrupted by injury and, of course, the pandemic. He was said to have had a muscle injury in his right leg but on Sunday showed no signs of problems as he was out running with the ball and was involved in shooting practice too. The feeling is good enough that Zidane was happy to put him in his squad to face Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Champions League, a game with added importance given the opening group defeat at home to the perceived minnows, Shakhtar.
Odriozola and Odegaard continued their work away from the group and, although making good progress, are not available for the midweek trip. Carvajal, Nacho (injured at the Camp Nou) and Mariano are also out.

The other big news on the squad list is the inclusion of young Sergio Santos. The 19-year old from Leganés has been playing at right-back for Castilla and is making the step up after Nacho's injury. Santos has been with the Madrid club since 2012 and is defined by those at the club that see him regularly as a player who loves to work hard, and who is always thinking about how he can help the team.
