The Los Angeles Football Club have done the unthinkable, eliminating three Liga MX giants in the 2020 Concacaf Champions League tournament. Since their debut in 2018, LAFC have become one of the best teams in Major League Soccer and in 2019 they won the Supporters’ Shield, their first trophy in their short history.

Eduard Atuesta from LAFC was sent off after an aggression on Guillermo Ochoa from América and with 10-man, Carlos Vela was able to score a brace and lead the team to a 3-1 victory against the Liga MX side.

Major League Soccer has been improving year after year, as evidenced by the performance of Los Angeles FC in the 2020 edition of the CONCACAF Champions League. LAFC eliminated three Liga MX teams to reach the final, where they will face Tigres UANL on 22 December with the opportunity to become the first MLS champion in their debut campaign in the competition.

Since their debut in Major League Soccer in 2018 Los Angeles FC have risen to become one of the better teams in the league, winning the 2019 Supporters’ Shield after an impressive season. Even though they have failed to reach the MLS Cup final in their first three seasons in MLS, they have managed the unthinkable in their debut in the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League.

Los Angeles FC tried to appeal Eduard Atuesta's red card, but Concacaf declined the petition because there is no VAR in the 2020 edition of the Concacaf Champions League. Therefore, they can't overturn the decision from the referee in the semifinal between LAFC and América.

Tigres UANL and Los Angeles FC are making their final preparations ahead of the big match. The one-off game takes place in Orlando on Tuesday 22 December and features the conquerers of Club America - which saw a Carlos Vela brace secure a stunning comeback for LA - against the victors of Honduras side CD Olimpia, thanks to two goals from Andre-Pierre Gignac.

Hello and welcome to the 2020 Concacaf Champions League Final. LAFC will try to win their first international trophy, but they have to defeat Tigres UANL, a team that has a lot of success in last years. So the game for Bob Bradley and company wont be easy.
