Aspire Academy launches “Player Insight” TV program for world football stars

As part of its ‘Friends of Aspire’ initiative, the Aspire Academy in the Qatari capital of Doha has launched a new TV program entitled ‘Player Insight’, whose first guest was Juventus and Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci.

The program is broadcast on Mondays on the Al Kass sports channels in both Arabic and English, on the ‘Friends of Aspire’ website, and on Aspire's social networks.

Speaking about the new program, Walter de Salvo, Director of Footballing Performance and Science at the Aspire Academy, commented that the program is a platform that “allows footballers to share their perspectives on football, their opinions on training and competition methodologies, as well as their general experiences and feelings about the game.”

He added: “Beginning with a top-class defender such as Leonardo Bonucci highlights the strength and attractiveness of the program at the global level, in addition to the many successes presented by the ‘Friends of Aspire’ program over the past years.”

Bonucci is one of the best and toughest defenders in world football and was part of the Juventus side that won six consecutive Serie A titles between 2012 and 2017.

‘Friends of Aspire’ is a program that was launched by the Aspire Academy in 2014, bringing together the world’s top footballers to enhance and develop knowledge in the area of footballing performance and science.

The program is based on the annual global summit held by the Aspire Academy. In addition to the regular meetings held in Doha, and the annual initiative organized by Aspire in several countries to share and develop ideas, members are supported by a sophisticated website, which gives them easy access to their colleagues and showcases the best footballing practices and ideas.
