Club América record comfortable win over Pachuca
After losing three points last week due to improper alignment, the Eagles bounced back and defeated Pachuca 2-0 in the 2021 Guardianes tournament.
Last time out, Club América defeated Atlas 2-0 to take the first place in the 2021 Guardianes tournament, but due to the ineligibility of striker Federico Viñas, the league punished them by taking away the victory and the points. With the loss against Atlas. they fell to third place and the Eagles suffered their second defeat of the tournament.
América bounce back
So for matchday 8 they wanted to bounce back and what better way to do it at home against the worst team in the 2021 Guardianes tournament, Pachuca. Club América scored an early goal thanks to a great finish from Richard Sánchez to give them the lead in the 29th minute of the game at the Azteca stadium.
Then before the first half ended, Pedro Aquino scored the second goal of the night in the 42nd minute and the Eagles returned to the dressing room with the confident boost they needed. In the second half, Club América controlled the possession (58%) and they were able to keep a clean sheet.
During stoppage time Richard Sánchez, who scored the opening goal, saw a red card for a hard tackle on Kevin Álvarez to leave the Eagles with 10 men towards the end of the game. With this latest victory, América remain undefeated at home in their last four games and they climb up to second place (16) only two points away from Cruz Azul (18).
