PSG in talks with Real Madrid target Alaba

Alaba has been in talks with PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi. The Bayern Munich player knows Real Madrid are also keen on a summer deal.

MadridUpdate:
PSG in talks with Real Madrid target Alaba

Real Madrid have competition in the race to sign David Alaba. The latest club to join the list of clubs interested in landing the Austrian international are PSG. The Ligue 1 side have contacted the versatile player to let him know of their interest. Sky Sports has already reported that Alaba has had a conversation with Nasser Al Khelaifi, president of PSG, to reveal his intentions.

PSG's interest in Alaba is not surprising. The 28-year-old ends his contract with Bayern on June 30 and has already officially announced that he will not renew his current deal in a recent press conference. Since 1 January, Alaba has been free to talk to clubs. Bayern, meanwhile, have already found their replacement by agreeing on a deal for French defender Dayot Upamecano, who will join the Club World Cup champions from RB Leipzig for €42.5 million.

Alaba has been in contact with Madrid and is aware of the club's offer of €11 million net per season, in addition to the transfer bonus that the footballer and his agent, the well-known representative Pini Zahavi, will demand. Other clubs, such as Manchester City, have also shown interest in signing the defender with superior proposals. AS understands that the Premier League club are willing to offer €15 million net per season, however, in Madrid they trust that Alaba's desire to play in white will help get the deal over the line this summer.

Future of Ramos still undecided

This interest from PSG in Alaba, obviously has consequences for Sergio Ramos, another centre-back who ends his contract on June 30 and still has yet to reach an agreement on a new deal with Real Madrid.

Ramos is among PSG's targets for next season if he does end up leaving Madrid, but the inclusion of Alaba on the French team's list of summer targets reduces his chances of playing in the French capital.
