NBA All Star Game live online: Team LeBron vs Team Durant
The NBA All-Star game is almost upon us… but do you know how the coaches for each star team are selected? If your answer to that question is no, then you’ll be glad you arrived on this page.
How are NBA All-Star coaches decided?
While the players for the All-Star game are picked though a wide voting process, the head coach of the team in each conference with the best record is selected to take their respective team into the All-Star game. There is one condition, however, and that is that the same coach is not permitted to take on the role for two consecutive All-Star games.
That said, there are some who believe that, just like the process for picking players, we should also do that for coaches. Here Brandon Anderson makes the case, asking: why does only one coach get All-Star recognition, and why do we just assume the guy with the best team is doing the best job?

Who are the NBA coaches for the All-Star game 2021?
There were a few contenders leading up to the final decision, with the Bucks' Mike Budenholzer and the Nets' Steve Nash potential picks in the East. Over in the West there were the likes of Frank Vogel (Lakers), Tyronn Lue (Clippers) and Monty Williams (Suns).
In the end, it’s Philadelphia 76ershead coach Doc Rivers and his staff have earned the spot to coach Team Durant. Utah head coach Quin Snyder and his staff have earned the spot to coach Team LeBron.
