NBA All-Star: who has won the most Slam Dunk Contests?

While there are five two-time winners of the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, only one man has been victorious in the All-Star event on three occasions.

Nate Robinson has won the most NBA Slam Dunk Contests in history, the former point guard claiming victory in the event on no fewer than three occasions..

Slam Dunk Contest winner three times in five years

Robinson, who spent 10 years in the NBA between 2005 and 2015, won the Slam Dunk Contest in 2006, 2009 and 2010, each of his triumphs coming while he was playing for the New York Knicks.

Michael Jordan among five two-time Slam Dunk Contest winners

While Robinson is the only NBA player to win the competition three times, there are five men who have been victorious twice: Dominique Wilkins (1985 and 1990), Michael Jordan (1987 and 1988), Harold Miner (1993 and 1995), Jason Richardson (2002 and 2003) and Zack LaVine (2015 and 2016). 

Toppin, Simons and Stanley set for 2021 Slam Dunk Contest

A fixture of NBA All-Star weekend since 1984, the Slam Dunk Contest will take place at half time of the 2021 All-Star Game between Team LeBron and Team Durant in Atlanta.

There will only be three participants in this year’s Slam Dunk Contest: Obi Toppin of the New York Knicks, Anfernee Simons of the Portland Trail Blazers and Cassius Stanley of the Indiana Pacers.

The trio are all first-time contestants.
