Borussia Dortmund vs Sevilla: how and where to watch - times, TV, online
All the information you need to know on how and where to watch Borussia Dortmund host Sevilla at Signal Iduna Park (Dortmund) on 9 March at 21:00 CET.
Borussia Dortmund will try to confirm their good vibes in the Champions League against Sevilla at home on Tuesday, after beating the Spanish side 2-3 in the first leg.
The Germans have shown they are a dangerous team, especially in the European competition, where they picked up 13 points from their six Group F matches to top their section.
Dortmund can improve on last season's performance in Europe
This time they could improve on last season’s performance, when they reached the round of 16 but lost to Paris Saint-Germain. The German outfit haven’t progressed to the quarter-finals since the 2016-17 campaign.
In the Bundesliga, Edin Terzic’s men are sixth, with 39 points (12 wins, nine losses), 16 points behind leaders and current champions Bayern Munich, who beat them 4-2 last weekend.
Copa del Rey knockout a huge blow
Meanwhile, Sevilla hadn’t really shown signs of real weakness until they met Dortmund in their first leg. Since then, they have played four games, losing their last three. Two of those defeats were against Barcelona in LaLiga and in the Copa del Rey.
It will be interesting to see if Julen Lopetegui’s men have recovered from the Copa loss, as they went to Camp Nou with an advantage of two goals (2-0) and they were almost in the final when in the last minute of the game Gerard Piqué scored the second goal for Barcelona and the match went to the extra time. In the addition period, the hosts scored a decisive third goal that saw them through.
Sancho unavailable for the hosts
Dortmund will again be without Axel Witsel and Marcel Schmelzer, while Manuel Akanji still has some hamstring issues.
Giovanni Reyna and Raphael Guerreiro didn’t play against Bayern and the hosts hope they can return in time to play against the Spanish team. Jadon Sancho will be unavailable for the hosts.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland will be the biggest menace for the visitors, as the Norwegian striker has scored 29 goals in 28 appearances this season, following his double against the Bavarians.
Koundé and Bounou back
Meanwhile, Sevilla won’t be able to call upon the services of Aleix Vidal, with hamstring issues, but Jules Koundé and Yassine Bounou should be back to face the German team.
Youssef En-Nesyri will be back in the attacking line, while Lucas Ocampos is expected to feature from the start.
