What are the new jerseys and kits this season 2021 in MLS?

With the start of the new Major League Soccer season set to start this week, we look at some of the new and most aesthetically sound jerseys from the 27 teams involved.

What are the new jerseys and kits this season 2021 in MLS?

The 26th Major League Soccer gets underway on 17 April as San Jose Earthquakes face Houston Dynamo to kick off the new campaign. The regular season will conclude on the 7th of November, the latest any MLS season has ever ended with MLS Cup final set to be staged on 11 December with Columbus Crew the defending champions following their victory over Seattle in the 2020 MLS Cup final.

As always, the new season means new players, new coaching staff and this season even a new team in the shape of Austin FC who make their debut and will play in the Western Conference. As always it's the presentation and unveiling of new season kits that gets many fans buzzing with the new campaign just around the corner.

With many teams still yet to unveil 2021 home/away kits, we've taken a look at the Adidas offerings from all 27 franchises so far in a season where third kits are set to be introduced for some of the bigger selling teams. After a painstaking process, here's the AS English Top 5 x MLS 2021 jerseys.

1) Seattle Sounders (away)

The Jimi Hendrix anthem 'All Across the Watchtower" is a staple musical offering as the Sounders take to the pitch and as a tribute to one of Seattle's favourite sons, the club have teamed up with the Hendrix Estate for this 'Purple Haze' inspired away shirt with each jersey featuring the famous Hendrix autograph in the corner.

2) Austin FC (home)

Both MLS and Adidas who are the official kit supplier to the league have often been accused of being conservative when it comes to design for its clubs. 2021 newcomers Austin FC who always see the city as being somewhat of an 'independent island' in the state of Texas wanted to make a statement with bold club colours and standout. With only a handful of clubs around the world sporting black and green stripes (Nueva Chicago (Argentina) and Sassuolo in Italy), the Texans will look the part as one of the few striped MLS outfits in their debut season.

3) Portland Timbers (home)

Inspired by their inaugural 2011 season jersey, the 2021 effort is a contemporary version of the much loved debut half-and-half kit featuring two shades of green. The shirt features a smart two button-up collar and attractive faux stitching between the two green halves all topped off with a 'Soccer City USA' tag to round-off a very attractive offering from Oregon's finest.

4) Vancouver Whitecaps (home)

Sometimes when it comes to football kits, the old saying of 'simple is best' is often true and this is certainly the case when it comes to the Vancouver Whitecaps 2021 Hoop Jersey. A simple plain white shirt topped off with a navy hoop with sky blue tripping and the iconic Bell sponsorship is as simplistic as it is classy!

5) LA Galaxy (away)

The new away shirt or "Community Kit" is a celebration of the fans who have been with the club since day one claim the LA based franchise. The name of this kit celebrates the club's history, the vibrant community of supporters and the spirit of the city of Los Angeles.
