The two British boxers are set to showdown in the fight of the year sometime this summer. The date is to be deterined and the fee could be record breaking.

The heavyweight bout of the year still has no date or setting in place yet, but reports say the site fee could shatter the previous records.

Saudi Arabia set to be site of record setting fight

The proposed stage for the Tyson Fury - Anthony Joshua fight is said to be Saudi Arabia, and according to ESPN’s Mark Kriegel the site fee the two Brits will bring in is over $150 million.

With the proposal, each fighter will take home $75 million, with the leftovers being inverted in expenses, such as the undercard fights.

Matchroom director Hearn says terms are agreed upon

Nothing has been finalized up until now, although Matchroom’s managing director Eddie Hearn says he has memo agreeing to terms from the fight’s financial backers, but is still waiting for the document to go through the legal processes that will make the transaction official.

In a statement last week Hearn said the fight is scheduled to take place either on July 24th or at some point in early August. And after weeks of negotiations with Fury’s promoter, Top Rank, Hearn says an announcement is soon to be released.

The two Brits will more than double the Joshua-Ruiz site fee

The staggering $150 million far exceeds the $60 million site fee Joshua and Andy Ruiz pulled in on June of 2019.

“There have been drafts going backwards and forwards between our lawyers and Top Rank’s lawyers,” Hearn went on to assure “It’s close. Zero hold-up”

Joshua (24-1 with 22 KOs) is the WBA, IBF and WBO title holder, while Fury (30-0-1, with 21 KOs) has the WBC belt after taking it from Deontay Wilder in February of last year. The fight is expected to draw over two million buys on PPV in the UK alone.
