Rennes president quizzed about Camavinga's future
Eduardo Camavinga, who has just one year to run on his contract, will probably leave Rennes this summer. Back in May, RMC Sport reported that the players has requested to leave after talking it through with coaching staff. Several top European clubs, such as PSG and Real Madrid, have been following the situation, poised to put in a bid if an opportunity arises.
"Reducing our squad is one of our priorities. We have eight or nine players who could leave," Rennes president Nicolas Holveck told RMC Football Show today. "Eduardo's situation still needs to be resolved. Everything remains open, he could possibly either leave or continue his adventure here. He won't leave for nothing. We have had a lot of conversations".
Holveck admitted that Rennes are unlikely to get anywhere near the 100 million euros which Camavinga was valued at before the pandemic: "Putting a fixed price in an atypical market like this one would be presumptuous," he said.
According to L'Equipe, Kylian Mbappé still intends to leave Paris Saint-Germain despite the Ligue 1 club's investment in new players this summer, including Sergio Ramos.
The right-back is not for sale and will only leave if he hands in a transfer request and Atlético receive a suitable offer. He's been linked with a move to Manchester United.
