Tottenham: Kane set to play Europa Conference League tie
With his future still up in the air, Harry Kane is expected to be included in the Tottenham squad for Thursday's tie against Portugal's Paços de Ferreira.
With just a fortnight to go until the transfer window closes, Harry Kane's situation remains unclear. The Tottenham striker played no part in the first game of the Premier League season against Manchester City, precisely the club who want to sign him, and was left out of Nuno Espírito Santo's squad list.
According to Spurs' explanation, Kane was omitted for fitness problems, as he only returned to training on Friday and had yet to complete a full session with the squad. Kane has three seasons left to run on his contract (he signed a six-year extension in 2018), so the club and chairman Daniel Levy would expect a high fee for their captain and star player.
Spurs' tie in Portugal
But with the new season now up and running and following the 1-0 win over Manchester City, the next test for Spurs is Thursday's Europa Conference League tie against Paços de Ferreira, and Kane has been included in the list. According to The Athletic, Kane's close circle have hinted that the player will be available for the European game or the following one, against Wolves in the Premier League. As things stand, the next game is the Europa Conference League tie in Portugal. While one of the reasons that Kane wants to leave Tottenham is the team's struggles to win trophies, Spurs will be lining up their star player for their opening game in the new European cup competition.
