Where are the best back-to-school deals? Staples, Target, Walmart, Kohl's

With school getting underway soon it means stocking up on supplies for the year ahead. Here is where you can check some of the best deals available.

As students head back to school this year, families will be looking to find the best prices on supplies and materials to start the new semester on the right foot. Retailers are offering great deals on everything that students will need for the year ahead.

The major retailors are offering cut-rate deals on apparel, backpacks as well as the necessities for the day-to-day classroom activities and projects. Read on to find out where the best prices are.

Kohl's

When it comes to back-to-school apparel shopping, Kohl’s is providing great deals on school uniforms with up to half off trousers, skirts and tops. Kohl’s is offering a range of activewear outfits for $29.99 or less. Families will also find an array of discounts on an assortment of footwear from top brands to start the year looking sharp. And to carry supplies to and from class, backpacks are starting at 30% off.

Staples

When it comes to shopping for supplies, Staples has just about anything a student will need for the school year. Families will find low prices on school essentials as well as technology essentials like computers, headphones and printers. Those that sign up for the Staples Rewards program will enjoy three months at the Base+ tier, giving them free shipping with no minimum purchase and 2% rewards back on purchases.

Target

For one-stop shopping either online or in-store, Target has a range of deals for families from supplies to apparel. Supplies at both Target and Staples are comparable on many classroom supplies. Target also offers a variety of deals on technology products students will need for the upcoming school year.

Using Target’s Shipt delivery service you can have your purchase delivered the same day for free, regularly it’s $9.99 per delivery, when you sign-up for the four-week trial period at no cost. Or you can have your order pulled together for you for curbside pickup for free. Customers that are signed up for Target Circle Benefits can get a $5 Target gift card with the purchase of three oral care products or a $15 with a $50 purchase of select household essentials and choose same-day pickup or delivery.

Walmart

Like Target, families that don’t want to run around, or click around, and keep their shopping all in one place can find low prices on just about everything students need at Walmart. One handy feature on the Walmart webpage is a school or grade specific supply list. Entering your city and selecting your school and student’s grade, Walmart will give you a list of supplies needed, or shoppers can use the retailer’s grade specific lists.

For those that can’t get to the store, Walmart has its Walmart+ program where customers can get free shipping through the retailer. Customers can use the 15-day trial for free, but if they fail to cancel it will cost $12.95 per month or $98 per year. Shoppers can also make their purchase online for same-day in-store pickup at no cost.
