Arsenal welcome Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium this weekend, in what is one of the games of the year in the Premier League. After an opening day defeat to newly promoted Brentford, Arsenal will looking for their first three points of the season. Visitors Chelsea travel to take on the Gunners after their 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge against Crystal Palace in their season opener.

Arsenal sign Martin Ødegaard

In what has been a busy week for Arsenal, with the signings of Aaron Ramsdale and Martin Ødegaard, head coach Mikel Arteta gave his thoughts on Chelsea ahead of the match.

"Well from Chelsea we expect what they have done over the past few years, they are a top team, full of world-class players with a great manager. They are the champions of Europe. We expect a really competitive match, that's what I expect from our team. Our fans are going to be supporting our team, right behind them from the beginning because they have been missed so much, and we are going to go there to win the football match."

Chelsea head into the game against their London rivals in fine form, having already beaten Palace in the Premier League and lifted the Super Cup prior to that fixture.

It remains to be seen whether new Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku will start the game after his €115 million transfer from Inter Milan, however, he is expected to be involved at some point. N'Golo Kante will also be hoping to make a return to action after missing his side's opening game of the season against Crystal Palace.
