Mexico, solid favorites against Panama
Panama haven’t beaten El Tri in a competitive game since 2013. Moreover, the Panamanians have only scored three goals against Mexico in their last 10 matches against them.
Gerardo Martino’s side have proved too strong so far, winning both of their matches quite comfortably and only allowing their opponents two shots on target in both of their games.
Mexico, which will likely expect a defensive-minded approach once again from Panama, has usually made it beyond this stage of qualifying quite easily.
If they manage to beat Panama, it would be the first time that Mexico have won their opening three matches in the final qualifying round since their 1978 World Cup qualifying campaign.
