What were the Raiders-Chargers player ratings in NFL's Week 4?
The Los Angeles Chargers weren't affected by the weather delay at SoFi Stadium on Monday night. Justin Herbert led the home side in the 28-14 win over the Raiders.
The Los Angeles Chargers dominated the Las Vegas Raiders in the first half of Monday night’s game from SoFi Stadium. Justin and Herbert and Austin Ekeler led the way for the home side in the 28-14 win to take both teams to 3-1 on the season.
Los Angeles Chargers Skill Players ratings:
Justin Herbert QB: 7
Had as solid of a first half as his head coach Brandon Staley could have asked for. Threw three touchdowns and 175 yards in the first two quarters. He did less in the second half, but led the Chargers on an important drive to seal the game late in the fourth quarter.
Austin Ekeler RB: 7.5
Ekeler is the workhorse of this offense. He’s not the biggest back or the fastest, but he is tough to bring down especially against a defense that was warn out after a long first half. Had 117 yards rushing and 28 yards receiving with two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving.
Larry Rountree III RB: 3
Ekeler got the majority of the carries, which left Rountree to get the ugly yards. Played some smash mouth football, but had just 31 yards on 11 carries.
Keenan Allen WR: 5
Allen reeled in 7 reception, but for just 36 yards. His name was called often throughout the night, but didn’t do much with his receptions after the fact. Was always in the right place at the right time when Herbert needed a dump down though.
Mike Williams WR: 1
Just one catch for one of the top receivers in the division. If the Chargers went of to lose tonight, he would have had some questions to answer post game. Should have been more involved but ended with just 11 yards.
Stehpen Anderson TE: 2.5
Had just one catch, which was Herbert’s the longest completion of the night. Other than that play he was not much of a factor.
Jared Cook TE: 6.5
The veteran tight end is one of Herbert’s top targets, and showed his value again tonight with six catches for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Donald Parham TE: 5.5
Just two receptions on the night for Parham, but his first one was for the opening touchdown of the game. Solid performance from TE2. Chargers are lucky to have depth in a position so important for a young QB
Las Vegas Raiders Skill Players:
Derek Carr QB: 5
Had a miserable first half with just 52 yards passing. It didn’t help that his line was providing little protection. Came out in the second half and looked inspired, it was just too little too late. Ended with 196 yards and 2 touchdowns on 196. His interception was thrown late in the game when the Raiders were out of reach.
Josh Jacobs RB: 3
Like the rest of the offense, couldn’t get anything going in the first half, and by the time the second half rolled around the Raiders were much more intent on passing the ball. He had 40 yards rushing, and 17 yards receiving on five catches.
Henry Ruggs III WR: 4.5
Had the games longest reception of the night when he dragged in a 51 yarder in the fourth quarter when the Raiders were on the comeback charge. Had just two other catches for a total of 9 yards.
Willie Snead WR: 1.5
Caught the opening pass of the second half but the was his only contribution of the night.
Hunter Renfrow WR: 6.5
Was by far the Raiders best player. Had six catches for 45 yards and a touchdown, also had a big stick on a Chargers fake punt where he knocked the ball out of the receiver’s hands to force the turnover on downs.
Darren Waller TE: 6
Should have been targeted more often, but it took him a while to get into the game. The Raiders came to life when he started getting more touches. Ended with four receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown.
