Arango scores a hat-trick to give LAFC three key points
The Colombian striker gave Los Angeles Football Club a much needed victory against FC Dallas to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Cristian Arango has become a key player for Los Angeles Football Club since arriving in the summer and thanks to his 11 goals in 13 appearances the team has kept their playoff hopes alive. The Colombian striker scored a hat-trick on Wednesday to help LAFC defeat FC Dallas 3-2 at the Toyota stadium as they are making a late push to enter the playoff picture.
Arango became just the fourth player in the history of LAFC to record a hat-trick with his game winning goal in the 79th minute. The ‘Black & Gold’ will return to action on 23 October when they host Minnesota United at the Banc of California stadium.
Two road games and to home games left for LAFC
The race is about to end for Los Angeles Football Club and there is no margin for error with four games left of the regular season. The team from Los Angeles still has two home games left to obtain another six crucial points.
They will host back-to-back games first against Seattle on 26 October and six days later against Vancouver. The Los Angeles FC will end the regular season on 7 November against the Rapids in Colorado.
With the win on Wednesday they remain in ninth place with 40 points, but they are only three away from entering the playoff picture in the Western Conference. Vancouver obtained a late win to stay in seventh place, but Real Salt Lake have one game less and they could take a two point advantage if they defeat Chicago Fire on Saturday.
